    Really Great Book!!!

This book is about a girl named Madeline who is not able to leave her home due to her being allergic to the world. One day a boy named Olly moves in next door with his family who is a little messed up due to his alcoholic father. Maddy and Olly start chatting through the window at first and then through email, it starts to get serious and that's when the book all comes to a boil and leaves you speechless on how it all ends. I loved how Nicola writes the book like a diary page almost with little cartoons and email chat every so often. I found this book to be amazing just due to the excitement of new found love and how Maddy finds herself in a world she didn't think was possible for her. Thank You to Nicola Yoon for writing a excellent first novel and I'm looking forward to more books from you! I received this book from the Publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

    Such a sweet story

I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet & cheesey but not overbearing. I love the fact that the author portrayed to intelligent young adults living with very difficult but different situations (mental illness/mental breakdown & domestic abuse) I really didn't expect Maddy to end things with Olly but if she didn't he may not have had the courage to give jos mom an ultimatum & force her hand. I also didn't like the way Madeline treated her mother in the end but I understand why & I do believe that she wanted to forgive her but she was just lost & hurting.

    Very good book

It took quite a few pages to get into the book. Then I could put the book down

Too much hype for an average book

Having been told that Madeline has read more books than anyone else and keeping that in mind she does not know the spelling of 'until' is hard to believe. Even when you're home-schooled, with a personal laptop near you. I get her awful writing. Her mother is a doctor so it's understandable (it's a joke!!) I felt novel progressed too quickly to the main story and didn't really build any good strong backstory to hold it. I only felt a whiplash after every sudden change. Too many sudden changes occurred in the novel. Some things were quite confusing. For instance when she had locked a particular person out of her room how was she able to get and eat food, go out of the house unnoticed and get all the things she bought in the house specifically in her room safely?? The ending was something that I had suspected. But it was more duller than what I had expected. All in all I feel this book is an average version of the book Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell (Eleanor and Park was a lot better than this book).

    WOW!

Wow! Maddy and Olly’s story swept me away. I cared about her, cared about him, and I ached for both of them to get together. But at the same time, I worried about the consequences if they did get together. I loved the way Olly pushed Maddy outside her comfort zone and live life to the fullest. Yoon’s writing is the perfect combination: poetic and easy to read.
