    Lovely

A charming look at life right after the civil war, how the towns were built in that era, the power structure of those communities, and their fight for survival against all the dangers surrounding them. Even though being a second book in the series, there's enough repetition of the events from the previous book, I believe this could be read as a standalone story. I was intrigued by Will in the previous book, and I was excited to get a chance to read his story. Will and Tomasina can seem as total opposite at the first sight, but more I got to know them, more I realized they were really the same, both independent thinkers, innovative, filled with new ideas and concepts, leaders who are willing to ride in first to protect their people. The passion for life, for the success of the town, for little Ava, and for each other was the thriving force between them, and in the story. The one thing I did miss in this story was the faith in God, that leads, guides, and protects the characters and is in the center stage in most of the Love Inspired stories. Alluring historical fiction of building a town after the civil war mixed with romance and entertaining characters. The bravery of the people in town, the ingenuity, and protectiveness was delightful, and little Ava stole all the hearts for sure. ~ Four Spoons
