    Good overall.

Author could elaborate more on a Color Revolution in Kyrgyzstan since he discussed both Ukraine and Georgia. Speculation and diplomatic maneuveing around Manas militay base was watered down, as well as ex-President Akayev departure for and warm welcome in Russia. Also lacks discussion on Kudrin's demarche when Putin proposed Medvedev for Prime-Minister. With so much internal insight the book could have only benefited. Among other things the reversal of the color revolutions in aforementioned countries (except for Georgia where it happened later) was neglected, while it only strenghened Putin's position against swift democratization in the region. And moreover inspired him to exert more pressure on those countries and snap back at the West sarcastically for early optimism and support of the regimes that turned out far from democratic in actions and values. Nevertheless a worthy read, especially concerning Putin's relationship and diplomatic exchange on various issues with the West. Great interviews from current and former cabinet holders. That was a great part of the book, giving it distinct voice. Author also provides fine arguments regarding misunderstanding between Russia and the West. I would recomment it to anyone intersted in he topic.
