    Passing Storm

I really liked the idea of this story... A human hurricane society hiding amongst mortals; however, I intensely disliked the main female character from beginning to end, and I spent a large portion of the book rolling my eyes or huffing out a frustrated breath because of the way the story unfolded. I kept hoping things would get better, and I almost thought it would in 3 particular instances, of which I cannot fully describe, since that would be telling, but you may figure these placements out on your own, if you venture to read this story, but even these points of interest quickly became disinterest. I think my biggest gripe was that although there are usually lulls in every plot, this story didn't have strong characters and relationship connections that could carry the reader through, and the main female character was like a living embodiment of every thing I dislike; however, she did have a couple of good character traits, like selflessness and a subtle warmth, but these weren't enough to bring me round. I won't be continuing on with the series, but since I'm reading this story as part of a collection of firsts in a series, I will be sampling other works by this author. I received this freebie in exchange of a review. Happy reading!
