Love the series. Verity and Ellis are going strong and Frankie is coming into his own. Can't wait to read what happens in the next book.

    Angie Fox does it again!

Another great one by Angie Fox! This series just keeps getting better and better. It was very hard to put down! Ellis and Verity are doing better and better despite Virginia's interference. And Verity is getting to be an amazing ghost hunter, thanks to and still occasionally no thanks to Frankie. Fantastic ending! Can't wait for the next one!

    OMG what a great read!!!

OMG Angie Fox just gets better and better. This is book 5 in Angie Fox's Southern Ghost Hunter series, however while you will want to read each of the previous books you do not have to read them to follow SWEET TEA AND SPIRITS. Yes this is a continuing series, and yes there is a continuing story-line with Frankie, the gangster ghost, however each book stands on its own and has an ending. There are no cliff-hangers in these books. These books follow Verity Long, as she deals with ghosts, mysteries, her boyfriend Ellis and Ellis' family. I love the fact these stories evolve much how life itself does. The characters grow and change but still remain true to who they are. I love watching Verity get more comfortable with where she is in life and what that means for her future. I love Ellis...I want more Ellis...he's such a great character. But I think even better is ghost Frankie. He's such a character. Add in Verity's pet skunk, Lucy, and all the surprise "guests" that show up and you are always in for a fun engaging well-written time. I eagerly devour these books every-time I get them. They are written in first person but somehow that only adds to the appeal of these books. You never feel lost. Although I will say this one left me on the edge of my seat a couple of times. I was worried about Verity and Frankie. Fans of Angie Fox are in for a treat with SWEET TEA AND SPIRITS. If you are new Angie Fox but love great well written mysteries with outstanding characters and a setting you'll adore then you need to add SWEET TEA AND SPIRITS to your to buy list NOW. You won't be disappointed. Now to wait for the next book.......ugh that's the hard part, the waiting.

Sweet Tea and Spirits by Angie Fox

Humorous and engaging mystery. It can be read as a stand alone but a richer experience if others have been read prior. Fifth book in the Southern Ghost Hunter mystery series. Verity has a ghost hunting business thanks to the gangster ghost that has been grounded to her ancestral home. Frankie is cranky, a gambler, and a liar. Borrowing his power allows Verity to see other ghosts and solve crimes. And she quite often gets in the middle of domestic issues, angry ghosts and malicious mischief. This book deepens relationships between Verity and Ellis, Verity and Frankie, and even the woman that has caused Verity the most grief - the mother of her former fiancé - Virginia. Virginia is not a nice person. I hope Ellis realizes how manipulative she is at some point. Verity's sister doesn't play a huge roll in this series, but I thought this passage is indicative of the series fun and humor. Excerpt: “We stayed at my sister’s that night, which should have made Frankie happy, only it didn’t because Melody lived in an old schoolhouse that had been converted into loft apartments. How was I supposed to know there’d still be kids running through the halls? Melody was a perkier, blonder, thinner version of me. “Can Frankie buy things on the ghostly plane?” she asked, pouring me a glass of fresh-brewed iced tea. “Sometimes.” His immaterial gains tended to disappear after a short while. It didn’t stop Frankie from pursuing them. “The only things a ghost can have permanently are what he died with.” “Well, that settles it, then,” she said, making herself a cup of decaf. “I’m carrying my Keurig with me wherever I go.” Excerpt From: Fox, Angie. “Sweet Tea and Spirits.”
