    XIN LOI

Very good book . He writes with honesty and a bit brutally a-bout his part of the Viet Nam war . His description of those he served with and lost as well as those he helped kill are very graphic . It didn't take me long to read this as I couldn't put it down for long . A-gain well written .

    Diary of a modern warrior

The book is unputdownable, a day by day description of the brutal fighting experienced by a ship crew chief (actually the door gunner of a helicopter gunship) in Vietnam during period 1969 to 1971. The author's poetic and insightful description of his (the soldier's) state of mind in battle, a hypnotic Valhalla, in which time and distance are slowed, warped and bent. The story also portrays the descent of esprit de corps of the American troops, fighting an unpopular and unwinnable war, in situations where the racism present in civilian society remerges in violent incidents between black and white troops.

XIN LOI, VIET NAM-31 MONTHS OF WAR:

See what it was like to be a door gunner on gun ships in Viet Nam.
