  • A New Favorite!

This assortment of short stories was amazing! I have to say that short stories are my bread and butter, my cookies and cream, my peanut butter and jam! These specific stories were all examinations of the human experience from past, present, and future decades, even centuries and from a cynically real perceptive leaning on the darkness of human nature. These stories were written by an influential hand that leads the reader through a seemingly normal journey and... BAM! You may have expected it all along but maybe you didn't, either way the underlying content of each story will linger with you. Genre-defying is how I would describe this collection to a friend, you will find that these stories cross boundaries, blending genres and exposing the reader to... well, themselves as humans and how we are formed by our environment and how our environment is formed by us and how this cycle, if we never learn to break it, may eventually break us. I would recommend this to any reader but especially those who enjoy short stories, this is a collection you want to consider adding to your bookshelf! I listened to the audiobook and the narrators (Natalie Barber & Jeffrey Machado) were great, they gave great character to each story and it was a pleasure to listen to. And finally, the cover. What a damn good cover, which is a perfect representation of these stories and the theme(s) within. I hope to get a physical copy soon, because this is a new favorite of mine! [Thank you Chad Lester for the free copy!!]
