  • An enlightening and disturbing book

I have read and enjoyed Dara Horn's fiction, and this non-fiction book is vastly different from her other works. While "People Love Dead Jews" is very readable, it is a difficult read. The book's subtitle, "Reports from a Haunted Present", is particularly apt as the running theme throughout the book is how the lives of Jews today are haunted by the past. As a retired History teacher who continues to be captivated by things historical, I found the content very interesting and disturbing, but the author's knowledge has created an important work of non-fiction on a topic which is not fully understood by many. A very good read.

    Thanks for your feedback!
