Thrilling. Haunting. A true theatrical experience.

I’m not going to say much about The President is Missing, because I feel like it’s a book you want to know as little about as possible before you dive in. What I will say is it is absolutely fantastic and has earned a spot in my Favorite Reads of 2018 list. All the hype is well-deserved. Unfortunately, I feel like some readers may not trust the reviews for this because they may fear political bias contributed to the extreme positive or negative reviews. And I’m sure that has happened in some cases. But I beg readers to set aside their political opinions and to forget who wrote this book. All the words that comprise this entertaining and haunting tale can and deserve to stand on their own. I listened to the audiobook version and the narrators were phenomenal. A true theatrical experience. It’s an easy read/listen. One that pulls you from chapter to chapter. Twists and turns leave you confused who to suspect. Who to root for. And the ending leaves you satisfied. The book is so very appropriate for today’s economic, political, and global climates. As such, it’s a little scary, because things that happen in the book, well, you could see them happening now. The characters are extremely well developed. And you can’t help fall in love with President Duncan (and others who shall not be named here, because, well…read and find out who I mean!). I have many friends who were die-hard Patterson fans and who had grown disenfranchised with his work in the recent years. While I haven’t read much of Patterson, I can tell you this book is different. It must be different. Because there is no way you will walk away dissatisfied. Whether Patterson has hit a new stride or Bill Clinton’s partnership is to blame – this book is great. Read it. Soon. You’ll be glad you did.

    Honestly can’t stand the narration.

The actual book is probably fantastic but the audio version is awful. The voices are frogging and deep and the women sound like men and accents are just ridiculous hard to listen to. Every syllable is spoken so pointedly, who speaks like that. Don’t waste your time or money on the audio version.

    Good book

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I grew up listening to crime and adventure series on the radio and the narration of this book reminded me of them. And the story was very good as well.

    Exceptionally written and plotted

I found this book exciting, well researched and a great cautionary tale for all countries.

    Just finished

This story was exciting to read. My favorite part was the ending lesson....so beautifully written! I can imagine President Clinton speaking these words to us!
