  • Good Narrator and Pretty Good Book

I was expecting scarier based on a friends recommendation but it still was quite spooky at times and had you on the edge here and there. Definitely worth the read. Very well written as well.

  • A thriller with creepy undertones

"The Whisper Man" by Alex North centres on a mysterious person alleged to be involved in the kidnap/murder of several young boys. The first boy went missing over 20 years ago and Pete, a detective was on the case for years, finding all but one of the bodies and catching Frank, the murderer. For over 20 years these crimes haunted Pete, and now another boy has been kidnapped and murdered. There are case similarities, but Frank is incarcerated, so he can't be the murderer this time. Tom and his 6 year old son Jake move into the area, and Jake has trouble making friends; he often is heard talking to himself or to an imaginary friend, causing Tom concern. And then Jake disappears. . . . "The Whisper Man" is told from several perspectives, and as the story progresses the reader learns of related events in the lives of the characters. A good read with some creepy undertones!

  • Fast paced and enjoyable

Well written and well read. Nothing earth shattering but entertaining and intriguing. Would consider reading more by this author.

  • A great, creepy read

Really enjoyed this audiobook. A great interpretation by the narrator - he had a pleasant voice, perfect intonation and an excellent pace. The book was well-written - I'd actually suggest that it could have been longer, with more detail included! I like how each chapter is told by a different character - it adds interest, and builds suspense.

    Thanks for your feedback!
