A Baghdad Christie? What on Earth?

I'm a big fan of hodgepodge stories; where multiple different characters, settings, and subplots come together despite being seemingly disconnected and unrelated. This book is a hodgepodge story, and a good one at that. Ingredients: - A Victoria Jones from England; charming, if niave girl with a remarkable gift for lying believable and a love of adventure. Wants to go to Baghdad to chase down a man she met in the park, believing him to be her one true love. -An Anna Schaelle from the States; a clear-headed, intelligent nigh unemotional woman who works in the financial world, who needs to be in Baghdad for reasons unclear to us. -Various figures working in the allied secret service in the cold war; with the US and USSR presidents meeting to negotiate, it's important that nothing happens that shouldn't. Particularly certain interested communist extremist parties. And they come together in a deliciously unusual, sometimes hilarious sometimes thrilling Christie...well, half mystery, half thriller. It's good stuff, and worth a taste if you have the time..
