    WOW!!!

Wow, this was a really good book!!!!! Toni Aleo skated away with this one! It was long, I think the longest amount of chapters(51) in a book that I've read so far. The story of Claire & Jude is touching, with love at first sight & all the ups & downs they had I can say that the emotional roller coaster this book puts you on is well worth it. Claire an amazing dancer with a horrific past falls fast for Jude a soon to be NHL player & Jude falls just as fast for her. Claire hasn't had a relationship with a boy for 3 yrs & Jude has gotten around a lot with only one night stands never dating the same girl twice, until he spots Claire on campus. Chasing a girl isn't something he would do they chase him & that's the way he likes it, but spotting Claire taking down posters plastered all over campus he realizes that he's found the one person who he wants to chase, catch & keep forever. Trouble has a way of following them though, wit Jude's dad being part of the problem & then Claire keeping secrets from him they head for the breaking point. I enjoyed seeing the characters from the Assassins series in the book & the continuation of Phillip & Reese's story mixed in with this one. This is definitely a book that you need to have a box of Kleenex handy when reading. I think that this has become a top favourite book by Toni Aleo running a very close second to Blue Lines(Erik & Piper's story). Definite recommend.

Connect w/Claire & a Sexy Hockey Player Boyfriend

Well, Toni had me in tears again - sad at first and then happy tears. I'm a big fan of the Assassins series, so how could I pass up a spin-off series? And, of course, I had met Claire in Phillip's book "Breaking Away". Here Claire is in college and working at putting her life together since her Uncle Phillip rescued her from the streets three years earlier. And the story concerns her meeting Jude and their relationship progression. As a woman who still lives with 'am I good-enough' issues (even at age 66), I identified with Claire in those parts of the book and I am totally in awe of her dancing talent. I admire anyone who can be so absorbed in something as to lose touch with the outside world. There are some books that, when I am reading them, allow me to feel that emotion and this was one of them. I don't want to give the story away, so I'll summarize by saying that there is all you want in any story: depth to the characters, sexual tension (and releases - yum!), communication issues (thinking things but being afraid to say them...) and significant family challenges. Hockey (which is a huge reason I chose to read Toni in the first place) is a somewhat secondary character here, but always present as Jude (and Phillip) are hockey players. Being part of the story, not the whole story, is as it should be - people come first. If you enjoy a captivating storyline, lots of emotion and hot sex, take a chance and read the first book in a new series - and you'll be able to reconnect with some previous friends from the "Assassins" series. I'm looking forward to the upcoming books - not too sure I want to understand Ellen, but Skylar and even Ms. Prissy sound interesting and, of course, the other Sinclair boys are really intriguing! FYI, I did NOT get his book as a free reading copy - I bought it!
