    Viper Pilot

Very informative and an in depth view of modern day air combat. It gets a pretty technical and if you aren't versed in aeronautical lingo you might want to pass this one. That was the only reason I gave it 4 stars, otherwise it would've been 5... It has to be technical to better explain the complexities of air combat and it makes you feel like your in the pilot seat hearing the "bitching betty" sound as a SA-3 is coming at you... To me it was heart pounding and gave me a very in depth look at the USAF fighter pilot mentality and their ability to process a situation with 20 different things coming at them. That's what makes this book delightful. You get to see how they think not just "BAAM... Scratch one bogey... RTB" end of story... The author did a tremendous job in explaining every minute detail to make the reader better understand the life. I HIGHLY recommend this book to any military aviation enthusiast or the like...

The best book on military aviation

I have read many non-fiction books on this subject, some were very good, but this one stands out. The verbal descriptions of engagements kept me riveted, as if I was watching the action. The book is easy to read and enjoyable, the author must have the natural storytelling talent (in addition to being a fighter pilot with combat experience).

Viper Pilot - A Memoir of Air Combat

A great read that puts you in the cockpit of a F16 while in a combat arena.
