  • Not just a book about cranking out words

The insights on revision in this book are just as useful as Rachel Aaron's tips about how to get more joy while you get more words. It's a practical, no-nonsense, book and an inspiring one. After reading this the first time, I read two of her THE LEGEND OF ELI MONPRESS books and was so impressed by her irrepressible hero that I read 2K to 10K all over again with new appreciation. I've read an awful lot of writing books, but this one helped me see how to improve both my writing and revising. Definitely worth your time.

  • Professional information, yet enjoyable to read.

Written with wisdom and humor. The author's passion for writing and practicality in doing so in a more enjoyable, efficient, and professional way, shows clearly throughout the book. A "gem" of a resource.

  • Insightful

Catchy title, I mean, who doesn’t want to write more in less time? But the real (unexpected) value of this book is the guidance and encouragement to be more thorough and to produce a better quality story. Also a nice insight into the author's working methods.

I read many how to books. This is a very uniquely practical one.

  • A good addition to any author's library.

“…a practical guide to writing efficiently based on the experience of a working author who doesn’t eat if she doesn’t produce good novels on a regular basis.” I really enjoyed reading this book. A lot of it resonated with me. “Writing is a very personal journey, but that doesn’t mean it has to be a slow one.” I use the same plotting and writing strategies as the author and found the triangle she uses to amp up productivity quite useful (knowledge, time, enthusiasm). “Drastically increasing your words per day is actually pretty easy, all it takes is a shift in perspective and the ability to be honest with yourself (which is the hardest part).” I can’t wait to implement a couple of new ideas. “If you are not enjoying your writing, you’re doing it wrong.” I recommend this to authors of every level.
