Excellent holiday story with great descriptive writing that painted a beautiful picture of the English countryside during the holiday season. American Anna Vere needed to get away. After a broken engagement a holiday vacation in the Cotswolds, far away from her messed up life seems perfect. It starts out well but when the B&B she is suppose to stay in is flooded, she's stuck looking for somewhere else to stay. She's grateful when a local carpenter, Colin Heath, offers up a manor house in nearby Willoughby Close. Then when that doesn't work out she finds herself staying at the home of the very sexy carpenter. These two have a very intense connection but past hurts make both of them afraid to risk getting attached. As her time to leave comes closer it becomes obvious that their hearts have gotten involved. Will they be brave enough to find a way to make this work?? I highly recommend this one.

    Second Chance Romance

"A Cotswold Christmas" by Kate Hewitt is book number one in the "Willoughby Close" series. This is Anna Vere and Colin Heath's story. Anna decides to get away and goes to Cotswold for Christmas. She wants to be by herself and recover from her broken engagement and other devastating things in her life. When Anna first arrives in Cotswold her plans get turned upside down. Colin and Anna paths cross and end up spending time together. There is an attraction between them but Anna lives in New York and Colin lives in England so making this work will be very difficult. They both also have emotional issues that they have not comes to terms with. Will they be able to overcome all the obstacles in their way? This is a really sweet and emotional quick read. Even though it was a quick read I felt like I was able to get to know the characters. FYI, includes mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

    A Sweet Christmas Romance

A sweet Christmas romance. Anna needed to get away from the holiday's after a broken engagement. She leaves New York and heads to the English countryside of Cotswold. She has booked into a quaint B&B, but upon arrival finds she can not stay there. The owner has offered her to stay else where, when she meets sexy carpenter, Colin to come to her rescue. What starts of as friendship develops into much more. Both with previous hurts can they trust each other to move forward. A short story, with a great introduction into a new series. Loved the descriptive writing of the English countryside. I must say, "that kiss" was the perfect first kiss. I highly recommend this book. I received a copy from netgalley for an honest review.

    A Cotswold Christmas

I enjoyed reading A Cotswold Christmas by Kate Hewitt. It’s a stranger helping another stranger story. Anna Vere needed to get away from family and friends as she dealt with changes affecting her life. She decided to leave New York and travel to Cotswold to regroup. Unfortunately the Bed and Breakfast she was to stay had been flooded and she had nowhere to stay. Enter Colin Heath, a relative of the B&B owner. He would help her out with a place to stay, a place he had been remodeling. The attraction between these two develops as they open to each other, telling heartfelt stories and sharing deep down secrets. Now Anna and Colin need to figure out whether they can build a long distance relationship or if one or the other can give up their home to live with the other. This was a sweet, fun and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I enjoyed reading this book and had trouble putting this book down, reading it in one day. I recommend this book to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

    Warm HEA.

This is the first book that I have read by Kate and I will be adding her to my TBR author list now. A Cotswold Christmas (Willoughby Close series Book 1) is about Anna an American who has come over to England to escape a family Christmas, were her parents would be fretting over her because she has just found out something terrible and then lost her fiance because he was not supportive. So Anna arrives hoping to stay in a quaint little Bed & Breakfast to find out on arrival that there has been a flood and she can not stay there. The owner of the B&B phones her nephew and in strolls Anna's knight in shining armour Colin who takes her to a cottage that he is doing up. Colin does not think that Anna will stay as he thinks she is too posh to rough it as the cottages are not furnished yet but she surprises him and likes it there. Anna gets found out to be staying in one of the cottages at Willoughby Close by the nephew of the owner and he demands that she leaves - so Anna's Knight in Shining Armour steps up once again and offers her to stay in his guest bedroom, even though he would like her in his room. Anna is attracted to Colin but tries to stop her feelings and Colin thinks that Anna is too good for him so its great how they happen to fall into a relationship even though they think its just for the holidays. This is a lovely feel good romance, the writing style is warm and comforting and you are willing these two great characters to get together even though there are hiccups along the way because of Colin's family. I recommend this if you want a feel good HEA,
