  • Second chance at love

Long awaited story for Jace! I always love second chance love. Whenever i came across Jace in the series, i always have an image of him as gentle yet protective kind of man. Donna has yet proven how great she is. I always feel like riding a roller coaster while reading her book. Emotions flying up and down.

  • A Cowboy to the Rescue

When Jace meet Taryn, it was love at first sight. And for two years everything was perfect. Until she and her family suddenly disappeared. Now it's five years later and Taryn is back. She needs Jace's help, but she's scared to approach him. He is literally her last hope...will he turn her away? Oh my! What an excellent book. I am in love with Taryn and Jace and their book. There's danger, intrigue, happiness, tears, some unexpected revelations, and cowboys!!! I could not put this book down until I was finished reading it. I highly recommend this book and the whole series. I have to add that I'm bummed the publisher decided not to continue the series. There were several other characters that needed their own book. I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

  • Fighting for love

If you enjoy second chance romance then this book will hit the spot. If you want steamy romance then this story has plenty of that. Fancy the idea of hot, ex service guys coming to the rescue ? Yep you get that too ! Although if I'm brutal it doesn't really stand out as a cowboy story but maybe that's because it has more of an urban setting so a lot less of any sort of ranch life. What you definitely get is a couple who never stopped loving each other fighting for love . There does seem to be a lot of nasty, bad guys in Texas because every book in this series has the characters tripping over new ones ! This book like it's predecessors has hot romance, suspense, action and of course those gorgeous military types who always have each other's backs. If I'm honest I didn't really like the heroine and at times I found it difficult to believe that she was apparently so successful at her 'job' that keeping her working was so important. However I really enjoyed the twist at the end although obviously my lips are sealed. So this is book six and as it ends there are other characters introduced so clearly there are at least two or even three Heart of Texas books still to come so saddle up because there's still riding to do ! This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

  • Enjoyable read!

I've enjoyed all of the books I've read in Donna Grant's Heart of Texas series and this one was no exception. It was packed full of suspense and action. Jace Wilder is still dealing with the love of his life up and leaving him in the middle of the night five years ago without anything more than a text. He wants to move on, but is finding that hard to do without any closure. Taryn Hillman has been living a nightmare for the past five years. Now between a rock and a hard place, she heads back to her hometown and to the reunion with Jace she's dreamt of, but it won't necessarily be a happy one given the things she's dealing with. When Jace and his friends learn what Taryn is up against, they are all in to help her given their military background. Will they be able to get her out of the jam she's in without anyone she care's about losing their life? The story gave you plenty of suspense and edge of your seat scenes that made you want to know how it was going to play out, but it was well-balanced with romance as well. This was definitely an enjoyable read!

  • Cowboy love

This book starts off with Jace still struggling over his lost love Taryn, who left one night with just a text message. He just can't seem to move on. Now years later he is seeing her in his drunken state. Even his friends are worried about him. Little does he know Taryn is in town and in deep trouble and can't figure out how to get out of it. When Jace and Taryn accidently meet up, things get a little crazy. She knows she needs help and goes to Jace for help knowing he probably hates her. It doesn't take long for both to realize they still want each other. But danger is just around the corner. Luckily Jace and his friends are all very good in tough situations. I found this be a really good romantic suspense. I read in in one sitting. It was intense and some good twist thrown in. Book 6 in the series and can be read as a standalone.
