  • Another Incredible Lucy Kincaid Story

Once again Allison Brennan has delivered an incredible thriller with her novella A Deeper Fear. I could not put it down. I loved every page. I love the relationship between Lucy and Sean and all the descriptions of locations in California. A Deeper Fear includes all the plot twists and turns, and the occasional bittersweet moment that I have come to expect and enjoy in Allison Brennan's incredible stories. A Deeper Fear is the seventeen and a half story in the Lucy Kincaid series and I think that it might be my favorite story in the series. I loved that A Deeper Fear was a novella, but Allison Brennan still put a lot of action into the shorter story. I love how the title was incorporated into the story. Lucy Kincaid is an FBI agent in San Antonio, and Sean is her husband, who is a jack of all trades, from private investigator to security consultant. There is a lot of action in this story and it begins on the first page and does not let up until the end of the story. Lucy and Sean head to a conference in Sacramento. Lucy hopes that Sean’s work with Ellen Dupre’s drone will help him with his healing. A Deeper Fear shows Sean’s healing process from the events that took place in Cold as Ice, where he was charged with a murder he did not commit, put in jail, and kidnapped so that it looked like he escaped from jail. The worst part was the mind games that Jonathon Paxton played on Sean. I loved the multidimensions of Sean that Allison Brennan showed the reader in A Deeper Fear. I enjoyed the conversations between Lucy and Sean as they made their way back to each other. I love the surprise plot twist, as to the reason behind the attack on Ellen. I love how Allison Brennan kept me guessing who was behind the attack and their reason for the attack. A Deeper Fear had me guessing as to who was behind all the events and illegal activities throughout the story. I love how Allison Brennan always writes about strong women: Lucy, Megan, and all the other FBI agents. They are amazing women. I loved Lucy’s strength in dealing with Sean’s distancing himself from her and Sean’s vulnerability when he finally tells Lucy everything that happened to him. Once again, Allison Brennan proves that she is a master storyteller and that is why I love her books. All her books are always a must read for me. My favorite part of A Deeper Fear is how all the Rogan and Kincaids work together to discover who was behind that attack and help Sean heal. I absolutely loved A Deeper Fear. It was an incredible story.

  • Very thrilling

Enjoyed the book. Kept me reading all night. Allison Brennan are really good reads as she keeps the story line suspenseful and yet a little romance in the air.
