    Two Strong People

What do you get when you cross a female from the scandalous Eversleigh family who is determined to take charge of her own destiny with a stoic American ship captain who vows never to marry as all women are untrustworthy – you get an entertaining tale written by the talented Eva Devon. Lady Gemma Eversleigh sets her sights on the dashing American, Alexander Duke, resulting in the proposal of marriage she desires until the moment is ruined by thoughtless words. Alexander finally gives in and asks Gemma to marry him (well sort of asks) and is shocked when she refuses. Now he finds he will do anything to have her in his life but can he make her see his love for her is real? I LOVED Gemma, her determination, and her strength. When the unexpected happens she forges ahead on her own and she doesn’t make it easy on Alexander when he declares he needs her in his life. Gemma’s brothers were a force to be reckoned when protecting their sister and hilarious in their encounter with Gemma after learning her secret. And Alexander, well who couldn’t help but fall in love (and be exasperated with) the caring, but dense, man. Eva Devon has written a strong story of two determined people finding their way to love. Now I want to know who she has planned next and what delightful torture she has for them!

A great read , fun and romantic. Lady Gemma is a very determined woman. After some confusion Alexander comes to see he can't hold onto his troubled past. The whole series of ' The Dukes Club ', has been enjoyable. I recommend them very highly. I am hoping now that we have newly met the the last Eversleigh brother, Lockhart; Ms Devon will write another delightful story. ü
