  • This book is an amazing start to Calla's story!

I could not believe that ending! I didn't see it coming, and so, when I read it, I threw my phone down, started hyperventilating, and continued on for about five minutes making illegible noise. Calla is so fierce and I love her. Not as much as I loved Vi, because Vi was the first of Creepy Hollow characters, but Calla is a close second. Ryn and Vi are back! As secondary characters, or course, because this is Calla's time to shine, but they're back nonetheless! The writing was spectacular and I love how Calla sometimes thought in the mind of an artist: "But just because I’ve seen the palette of dark colors doesn’t mean I have to paint the rest of my world that way. I can choose the bright colors instead. I can see them, paint them, draw them, surround myself with them..." Can't wait to dive into the next one because THAT CLIFFHANGER!

  • Intriguing ending

I loved the idea that the series was continued and centered around Calla, and still having Ryn and Violet as main characters. Where Ryn and Violet were top on the of their class, Calla was kept away from the guild by her mom so she had to eork hard to catch up with the lessons. Her personality's different from Violet - Violet was focused on her studies while Calla longed for friends. The ending was not what I expected. I was thinking that Chase was an Unseelie Royal but the revelation at the end of the book was a better twist than I hoped. I can't wait to read the next one.

  • Morgan MUST write!

Some people can write... Some people should write... Some people want to write... Morgan MUST write, because without her talent and imaginative world building this world would without a doubt be a much poorer place! Three cheers for Morgan, for yet another spellbinding book!

  • An interesting read.

The fight scenes are awesome. One knew from the start that there’s something odd about Chase. I’m not sure if I trust Calla’s new friends – the act a bit odd. Vi and Ryn are having a baby! I do wonder about Vi’s new job Underground and Ryn moving up in the Guild… And the twist with Calla’s mum! It explains a lot. I wonder what was so horrible, and probably personal, that she wouldn’t share it with the Guild. As for Amon, there’s something very off about him (which we already knew and was only underscored here). An interesting story. Calla has so much against her – even a mentor who doesn’t believe she belongs in the Guardian Training Program – but she perseveres. And the final scene…! Seems Calla has questionable taste in men.

    Thanks for your feedback!
