    A Family Affair

I am so in love with this novel, I read it non stop. Such a wonderful and compassionate story. I both laughed and cried . I have read Fern Michaels before, but in my opinion, this is definitely her best.

    Enjoyable

A wonderfully well- written emotional story of love, friendships, and family, in this novel by author Fern Michaels. A woman, saved by an emir while residing in America, falls in love at first sight with him after he is credited with having saved her life. She ends up marrying him in his homeland of Dubai, and becomes the Sheik's wife, and the second most powerful person after her husband. As time goes by, and as Trish Holiday, now Mrs. Trish al Mohamed, grows closer to Malik's sister Soraya and her husband Rashid, she begins to notice a distancing of her relationship with her husband, she begins to feel left out and in the middle of some secrecy on Malik's, neglected and left wondering about her uncommunicative husband, who has been away from the palace for quite some time, an abnormal abscnce. When she returns to her native country, the United States primarily Las Vegas, Trish is home and ready to help her destitute sister and her friends start a new life. The things Trish does with her very generous bank account, thanks to Malik who kept insisting the money was hers not his. How she helps her friends even in so far as implicating their ex- husbands illegal activities, men who abandoned their wives leaving them poor with hardly anything to their name, initially corrupted men who had formed a company, unbeknownst to Malik ~& Rashid, his brother-in-law, nor the emirs of Dubai, that they were the crooks as Sheik Malik called with their dubious business dealings that gave his country a tainted reputation. After all is said and done, both by Trish on her part while Stateside, and Malik at home, Trish returns to Dubai only to find her husband sick and dying, and the real reason for his lengthy absense from her, a mistake for which the Sheik tells his beloved wife he is deeply sorry for, and for making her feel untrustable. A story with all the emotions of love, joy, sadness, confusion, and forgiveness. A powerful message that love is greater than all the wealth or opulency that surrounds you. Also a remnder that wealth can change lives, as Sheik Malik has done to others with his kind heart, and which Trish has done as well. An enjoyable read.

    Hard to put down

Couldn’t stop reading this book. Great characters and loved the storyline. Very funny & emotional, I think I used half a box of Kleenex towards the end.
