A good book for mystery loves who want to escape

I enjoy the characters in these books. I liked that the story branched out a bit from Three Pines an idyllic suburb of Montreal, to Montreal. In the end, however much of the book stays in Three Pines. Because of the setting, I suggest consuming this and other LP books in a sitting or two. If you are like me and read a few pages at night before falling asleep, it can get stale. That's my fault, not the authors! The mystery is well crafted and interesting and the characters are vivid.

    Very Slow Beginning

When the much despised CC de Poitiers dies on Boxing Day, Chief Inspector Gamache returns to Three Pines to solve the crime. I found the first part of the book very slow and hard to get into. It did get more interesting in the second half, but I'm not sure how excited I am to continue the series.
