  • Good read

A little mystery, a little romance, and a whole lot of fun. Meg and Chance are very likeable fun characters, each a little geeky in their own oddball way. They team up to find out who is stealing work from small independent developers like Meg all the while Chance has a secret. The story had a little too much tech talk for me but the characters kept the story interesting and me turning the pages. The story is cute, and oddly sexy considering the characters. Definitely an entertaining read that I would recommend.

  • Gimme it Back

Jack Chance, CEO of a billion dollar tech company, is on a mission to find out how his company seems to have stolen work on its main frame. Meg Marlowe is a computer genius who's work has been high jacked. This couple team up to find answers and along the way a bit of romance. "A copy of this book was supplied by entangled via netgalley with no requirements for a review. Comments here are my honest opinion."

  • Fun romance

This is a fun romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. Meg is a computer wiz whose work was stolen by a big tech firm, which has her breaking in to try to talk with its CEO one night. While there, she encounters Chance, who is also snooping where he doesn't belong. When Chance tracks Meg down the next day, they begin an uneasy partnership filled with lies and half truths. However, despite that, there is an incredible pull between them. The hidden identity was well done and entertaining, and the investigation had a twist I never saw coming. If you are a fan of the genre, you will love this book. While this is the first book I've read by this author, it won't be the last as I'm looking forward to reading more of her work. Put this one at the top of your TBR list as it is a must read.

  • 3.75⭐

A Game of Chance was a good story, that I liked the idea of. I just didn't really connect with it and I found some of the tech talk a little boring and repetitive and so at times it made me lose interest. Yet, the characters involved were likable, interesting and different. And they are what kept me reading. Not to mention the story was well paced and packed full of references to Dr Who and many other Sci-fi gems. But unfortunately as much as I liked those references, the characters and the story. It just never grabbed a hold of me. Yet, it has got me interested in a new author and that is never a bad thing. **I was kindly provided with an ARC by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review**

  • a five-star read you need to take a chance on

A Game of Chance by Emma Shortt a five-star read you need to take a chance on. This was my first read by this author, but it won’t be the last, this was a great story that the nerd in me rejoiced over. My love of Blue and Jack just made this a brilliant story, the chemistry and comedy between them was sublime. The descriptions were some of the best I’ve read in a long while, I felt like I could be sat at the top of X-Tech, feel the colours reflecting off my skin. I also couldn’t help myself I had to have a slice of Lemon cake just because it was less drastic than dying my hair Blue, that was how much I adored this story.
