    Ghostly Intrigue

What do you get when you cross a ghost story with a heavy dose of intrigue? A Ghost to Die For is what. You start off with Stuart, the ghost, coming back to Rooney to ask for assistance she's reluctant to give. She never thought that helping Stuart would lead to intrigue, adventure or love. Keta seamlessly weaves all of these components together to make a story that sucks you in and keeps you wanting more. I loved the characters and hated to see the story end.

    A Perfect Halloween Romance

This paranormal romance is a great read any time of year, but it’s perfect for Halloween. A Ghost to Die for starts off with a fascinating seance conducted by the famous Fontaine sisters at La Bonne Chance Casino in Victory, New York. The twist is that although her sister sees and hears ghosts, Rooney doesn’t. She feels guilty about faking it, but they desperately need the money for treatments for their younger sister. After the seance, Rooney finally sees a ghost for the first time—in her hotel room. He tells her his name is Stuart Granger and his apparent suicide was a murder set up by a fracking company over a lawsuit he filed against them. He begs her to warn his younger brother he’s in danger too. She doesn’t want to get involved, but she knows she’s the only one who can help. When Rooney and Stephan meet, the attraction between them is electric, but the hunky, Afghanistan and Iraq veteran doesn’t believe her until Stuart gives her information no one else would know. Rooney and Stephan, with ghostly Stuart along for the ride, run for their lives from hit men hired by the company, Catskill Resources. Thrown together in mortal danger, they soon learn to trust and rely on one another. A Ghost to Die for has a tight, fast-paced plot and I couldn’t put it down. I instantly liked Rooney and empathized with her plight. Imagine always being the practical sister who doesn’t believe in the paranormal, only to be pulled into a life or death situation where you’re the one trying to convince a tough ex-sniper that his dead brother is communicating with you. Stephan is To Die For sexy and a realistically portrayed veteran. I enjoyed the chemistry between Rooney and Stephan and the believable way it developed due to the danger they faced and their need to watch each other’s backs. Their clever, snappy banter lightened the suspense of the danger just the right amount. Stuart is also a great character, well-developed, with strong goals of his own. I really wanted things to go well for him, even though he was already dead. The end is satisfying and fully resolved. If you’re in the mood for an absorbing romance perfect for Halloween, this is it.

An entertaining, heartfelt story, packed with acti

In "A Ghost to Die For" the Fontaine sisters, Vi and Rooney, are well-known psychics and their seances attract quite a crowd and a decent income. The trouble is, only Vi has ever seen a ghost and that was when she was a kid. And as for the other sister, Rooney? She doesn't even believe in them! That is, until the evening of one of their shows a ghost called Stuart Granger turns up in her hotel room at Chance Casino asking for her help. He can't leave the hotel until the truth about his apparent suicide is put right. He didn't jump from the balcony -- he was pushed! He didn't stand a ghost of a chance! (Excuse the pun...) At first Stuart thought it may be just bullying because he was gay, but he soon realised it was much more than that. He had filed a million dollar lawsuit against Catskill Resources, Inc. when a fracking incident wrecked not only his land but his water too - nearly killing him. Clearly, they'd they'd come back to finish the job, to keep him quiet, but had no idea Stuart's younger brother, Stephan existed, because he was away in Afghanistan at the time. But now he's back, Stuart needs Rooney to warn his brother his life may now be in danger too. I loved this story! I especially liked the character Rooney, she's smart, sassy (wink!), can look after herself and has a brilliant sense of humour! The way her relationship with Stephan developed, amidst the danger and suspense, was so realistic - even with ghostly Stuart by their side guiding them. And that, dear readers, was another aspect of the story I really enjoyed; how Stephan finally came to believe that Rooney could communicate with his brother and that she wasn't just batsh^t crazy. There was a happy sadness to the final resolution, which eventually helped Stephan with the closure of losing his brother in such a violent and unexpected way. Especially when he already had enough of his own health issues to contend with, like managing his own PTSD. Plus the sisters, or scam artists as some may say, have a reason for what they do. Their little sister Vanessa has leukaemia, and the money they earn from their shows goes towards her hospital bills, which they, and their gran, are responsible for. Which is nice, as you can see they're really not bad people after all. Diablo has written a fully-rounded story, with a strong and exciting plot, and characters to die for! Even with the paranormal, ghostly twist, the issues and emotions these characters were forced to cope with felt very real. They had me rooting for them all the way through to the very last page. An entertaining, heartfelt story, packed with action, nail-biting suspense, and romance!

    Great characters

Rooney has accepted to help the ghost of Stewart. It took Stewart a bit to convince Rooney he was real. He has a message for his brother that Rooney has to get him asap. Stephan Granger is an Army veteran who has issues and the last thing he needs is something trying to kill him. He thought his brother committed suicide they all believed he did. Stewart was suing the power company and ended up murdered as they were destroying their farm. Now they are going to come after Stephan. But Rooney has feelings for Stephan. Can they work all this out? I loved all the humor through out the story. It has romance and paranormal to go with it. You can’t go wrong with this novella or this great author. Keta know how to write a book to keep the reader interested and on the edge of their seats.
