    A Girl Like You

Loved the setting! Quick read. A young girl struggles to do her best during the depression to support her family of many siblings and gets in over her head with an underground criminal ring. Love story thrown in as well.

    A Girl Like You

The story flowed quickly from the opening through to the conclusion. You kept me guessing but gave little clues along the way. A real who-dunnit.

    Well written historical

I think that the research behind the story is exceptional, the characters are very well drawn (even the truly irritating), and the plot is different from the ordinary even though it lacked the urgency often found in many mysteries. The publisher's blurb is somewhat informative and there is no need for spoilers, but the writing is better than indicated, and that's what makes this worthwhile. I requested and received a free copy through AudioBookBOOM.

    A Girl Like You

Loved this book. The Great Depression in 1935 in Chicago. The main character, Henrietta is struggling to support her mother and her large number of siblings. She refuses to be defeated in spite of the odds she faces. Lovely story of courage and love.
