A story full of pain, deceit, love, passion, atte

Wow! I couldn't put it down. Lindsay went through an ordeal no one should ever have to experience, followed by being a prisoner for four years. Her father brings her home with Drew as her personal security. She thought she could never trust him again. She quickly finds that everything she thought she knew is false and the truth is so much more. A story full of pain, deceit, love, passion, attempts at healing, and revenge. I can't wait for the rest of the series. Book one does end on a cliff hanger.

    Totally enthralling. Emotional roller-coaster!

Received an ARC for an honest review. My God, what an opening to a trilogy. It left me heartbroken, raging, furious and needing more throughout! This story deals with events that are distressing and difficult. Lindsay is a survivor of a brutal gang rape. The perpetrators people she called her friends, her boyfriend (Drew) an accomplice (seeming to do nothing to stop the rape). Her parents controlling and career driven. She spent the last 4 years hidden away "recovering" at a mental institution "the Island", being drugged up, closely censored and kept quiet, so her senator father didn't have to deal with the mess. The perpetrators were never caught. The story begins with Lindsay awaiting discharge from the Island, pretending to be okay and answering questions correctly to win her freedom. She experiences a massive shock when Drew turns up to take her home, and is her new bodyguard... As the story develops, we learn more about what happened to her that night 4 years ago. The horrific story deepens in a way that left me furious and crying out for revenge! Nothing is what it seems. You will wonder who Lindsay can trust, who else was involved, what Lindsay's plan is and what the perpetrators end-game is. I have so many questions! A Harmless Little Game will have readers experiencing a roller-coaster of emotions throughout reading. There were times when I had to set the book down for a few minutes, but was constantly picking it back up, NEEDING to know more. It was also on my mind constantly, even when doing other things like trying to sleep or working! I was completely enthralled. For the most part, I was perplexed by Lindsay's attraction to Drew, and was infuriated by her parents! Grr! I cannot wait to read the next part of the series, and really hope that revenge and justice is served to all those involved! I really hope Lindsay (and Drew) will have a happy ending!

Couldn't put it down, a must read.

What Lyndsey goes through that night, trying to piece together the missing information, lots of unanswered questions why did no one get prosecuted? Why did her parents not pursue? Why was she left on the island so long? I could not put this book down I am left waiting impatiently for the next book definitely recommend.

    Incomplete

I know some books have odd endings, but this takes the biscuit. It has no ending at all and I will not waste any more money on the next installment for fear of being in the same situation in about four books time. My recommendation? Don't waste your money
