  • Charming Christmas Novella

This is a charming, day-in-the-life story. The events take place over about a week before and up to Christmas day. No messy murders in this story, just a series of minor thefts, a lost cat, a rescued dog, and several little mysteries that get sweetly handled by the well-intentioned, thoughtful Hamish. Be aware that while this outing was originally labelled as a prequel, it is nothing of the sort. Kobo doesn't tell you where this places in the series, but it's about half way through. If you've just started the series be aware that, to avoid spoilers, you must have reached at least Book #10.

  • A great short Christmas mystery

Loved this - Hamish Macbeth is a really appealing character and it was quite a touching story. Well written, easy and quick to read - just what I needed to relax during Christmas preparations.
