    Great story, highly recommend

Wonderful story, with leading characters that you root for. The setting is a small boutique hotel opening for its first Christmas and owned by Faith. How does she deal with a handsome guest who has a lot of issues of his own, combined with a hormonal teenage niece, her parents, two dogs and other guests. Heart warming, emotional but with humour. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

    The perfect tonic for winter

Kathryn Freeman Well another truly amazing book by the awesome Kathryn Freeman. Okay, so, I read this in October and it didn't feel weird. It didn't feel too early, it felt great and it got me excited about Christmas! It's not about tennis players or racing drivers but a girl with a dream and a big imagination. Faith opens her hotel 10 days before Christmas ... whether it was a wise or daft thing to do ..... it happened. She has 3 guests booked in (two of which are her lovely parents) and Adam Hunter (who she knows nothing about.) Faith comes from a loving family and has two sisters, yep, Hope and Charity (honestly, it's cute - not corney - their parents have a sense of humour!) And a brother, Jason who recommends the hotel to his friend. Hope is having a little teenage trouble with Chloe, her daughter and asks Faith to try and help her out by seeing if there is anything she can help with at the hotel. Of course, Faith finds things Chloe something to do. She is her niece afterall. Even though it scares Faith about what to do, she sets Chloe up on Reception - with a list of do's and don'ts. Imagine hormonal, gothicy, stroppy teenager, with bright tomato red hair, green nails, chewing gum and looking at her phone all day ..... all the while looking terribly put out and bored, well you've got the picture. In walks Adam.... A big hairy giant of a man. Chloe doesn't even notice him. Faith, in her attempt to rectify the matter and greet her first guest in the way he deserves, in her haste sends several baubles flying all over the place. Now, Adam hates Christmas, literally hates it. In fact, he hates it so much, he has booked himself a room in a hotel, miles from anyone he knows, just so he can avoid the whole Christmas thing. In he walks to Faith's hotel, to be ungreeted by a stroppy piller box red redhead and a hotel smothered with decorations, not to mention the tallest Christmas tree he has ever seen ..... covered in baubles... several of which came hurtling their way towards him. They say first impressions say a lot ... well it is very true in this case too, but not for the reasons you may be thinking!! I'm not going to spoil the rest of the story but it is great and I "Hope" you are intrigued. Please take a leap of "Faith" and buy it. It's light hearted, amusing, funny and just the tonic for a wet and cold Autumn / Winter read. #christmas #christmashater #teenagers #family #hotelier #romance #releaseday #kathrynfreeman #choclit #humour #funny #witty #justthetonicforwinter #ebook

    a happy Christmas eventually

The story is a real Christmas romance, combining a genuine Christmas fanatic with a Christmas phobic! The setting in a new hotel starting a few days before Christmas is perfect and the interplay between the heroine and hero well written and interesting. I loved the coming together of all the Christmas elements, combining with the budding love between the lead characters. I really enjoyed reading this book and it left me with a gentle feeling of happiness.

We're starting Christmas early this year!

This is my kind of romance – I loved it. Sassy heroine Faith, just starting her brand new hotel owning venture in the Lake District, opening just before Christmas. Troubled hero Adam, her first paying guest, who hates Christmas and is trying to hide from it. A very pleasant, easy to read book, I liked the way the story kept moving forwards, no dwelling on long descriptions of anything (I have my own imagination for that), there’s just enough to inform without boring. I would very much like to read more along these lines from this writer.

It was a heartwarming and cosy

Since being a little girl Faith Watkins had dreamed of owning her own hotel. When the ‘Old Mill’ in the Lake District went up for sale, Faith knew she had to buy it. Now, ten days before Christmas, Faith was finally opening the doors and welcoming guests, well her parents and one paying guest, Adam Hunter, to be precise. Adam Hunter is trying to get away from ‘Christmas’ and had booked to stay at the ‘Old Mill’ over the festive period. Upon walking into the hotel he is greeted, eventually, by a moody teenager with an attitude (Chloe, Faith’s niece) and it would seem he has also entered Santa’s grotto, as Faith certainly hadn’t held back on the decorations. Can Faith help Adam learn to enjoy Christmas again? I’ll openly admit, I’m not a real lover of Christmas. Every year I try to help get myself into the Christmas Spirit, with the help of Christmas movies and of course festive books. A Little Christmas Faith is certainly a book that can help squash that Bah Humbug feeling. The whole book is written to perfection. Ms. Freeman has captured the spirit of Christmas and spread it out within the pages. The characters are all very realistic as well as likeable, even Chloe. I could picture the hotel in all its glory, and the scent of Christmas wafted off each page. This is an easy read that flowed naturally. I knew from the start where the plot was heading, but I didn’t know how it was going to get there. This is a book filled with romance, laugh-out-loud moments, with the odd tear jerking scene mixed in too. It was a heartwarming, cosy, grab that cup of hot chocolate, put on that roaring fire and snuggle up with, type of book. It most definitely is one to add to your festive reading list.
