Feelgood and more - loved it!

A touching story that brought tears to my eyes at one point. The characters become friends and you live life's trials with them, willing them on. LOVED Grace and Lily and ... you get the picture. Different, heart warming and left me feeling good.

    Contemporary Romance

Words and phrases that came to mind when I finished the story were: *old fashioned love story set in a contemporary time period *charming *challenges *family *friendship *change *patience *persistence *predictable *know what YOU want and be willing to say so *friendship *HEA When Adam shows up at the beginning of the book it is known that he and Katie will probably end up together. The fact that it took them over a year to reach a HEA made it drag a bit for me but they did both have quite a bit to work through in that year before being ready for one another. Katie loves her work in the bakery she owns but her partner, Steve, seems a bit of a grouch and rather overbearing. Steve may be good with numbers but he is a bit lacking on the emotional front. As more of their relationship is exposed the dynamics make more sense though I still don’t understand why they stayed together so long. Adam is divorced with shared custody of his young daughter and he often takes Lily to see his grandmother in the same village Katie has her bakery. He is a man who puts family before himself and his own needs and his selfless decisions have not always worked out in his own best interest. Thank you to NetGalley and ChocLit for the copy of an ARC of this novel. This is my honest rating and review.

Made me want to fall in love all over again!

Sometimes in life we need a pick-me-up. We need to curl up in a chair with a book that reminds us life is full of good things and good people. This reminded me that when family give you advice they mean well, but you don't always want to hear what they say. I think it's time I fell in love all over again ... and this book has inspired me to do just that!

    Couldn't finish this one!!!

Hard as I tried, I couldn't even finish this book. It is too predictable and has been done too many times. The main character breaks up with her boyfriend when she meets the mysterious stranger in her bakeshop whom she immediately has a connection with. He's been through a bad divorce and has a small daughter whom he shares with his ex. His grandmother is dying, loves cakes and wants to find him a new wife before she leaves this earth. Too much sweetness for me.
