  • A Man Called Ove

Really enjoyed this book. Love is the sort of man we don't see much anymore, honest, capable, yet so inflexible he doesn't quite know how to fit into a world without his adorable wife. This is a charming story.

  • Great book

Loved it. Easily the best book I've read this year. I want to see myself as Ove but I know I'm not even close

  • Wonderful, Emotional, Beautiful... A must read!

So I am the type of person, when trying out a new book that differs from the typical genre I read, to go and look at all the reviews of a book, looking for the best and wort of them before making my purchase to know I am not wasting a dime. Ove would be proud of me. And proud again for deciding to share my knowledge with fellow readers. The story of Ove is worth EVERY PENNY. It hooked me from the start and I found that I could not put the book down. I forcibly had to close my e-reader at night so that I could get a decent nights sleep up until I hit 70% read (thanks kobo for having that feature :D) in which I stayed up and binge read the rest. The book is very well written, with vibrant characters that elicit a myriad of emotions within the reader. From fuming at the audacity of a blonde bimbo or a man in a white shirt, to laughing at certain antics of a little kitty... to crying over moments in Ove's life. I loved every minute I spent with Ove and his neighbors, and witnessing his life and will gladly pick up this book time and time again to re-read it over the years to come. I can, with confidence, say that you, fellow review reader, will adore this book written by Mr. Backman. Spend a few days with a man called Ove, and you won't regret it!

  • Ove ... Good stuff!

Excellent. Swedish without shouting it out. Great capture of the essence of a Swedish baby boomer.

  • A Man Called Ove

A really great book. It made me laugh out loud -- and cry, too. Great descriptions of the setting and characters. The first chapter is very funny, and gives the reader insight into Ove's personality. It's the kind of book that I'll read again.

    Thanks for your feedback!
