  • A good second book in the series

The second book in the series, pretty much like the first with some changes in supporting characters. I like that Alex Delaware appears briefly in the book. Only thing is that by these two, I like the Golem series better but haven't seen a new one of these. I'm still confused about the difference between city police and the sheriff's office and jurisdiction.

  • A measure of darkness

Not worth reading too much personal fill and story streched out which made it boring certainly not worth the price

  • mystery /thriller

The writing was strange like it had not been proofread. But the story held my interest. This mystery/ thriller caught and held me. The characters were real and somewhat mysterious. The settings were real and a pleasure to read. This book moved fast and then slowed at the perfect pace. I have an idea that this might be a new author and I hope she continues writing. Good story. Thanks to NetGalley for ARC

  • A Measure of Darkness

A fight breaks out at an outdoor party. A number of people are shot including a young child asleep in his bed, a young woman is run down, and the body of one of the attendees is found in a shed in the backyard strangled to death. Thus begins a convoluted investigation that takes months to resolve and leads Deputy Clay Edison back to the early days of a band of children who met at the most bizarre school ever. So many subplots and stories to keep straight including the marriage of his brother. But the best part of the book is the best man’s speech. That sealed the whole entire convoluted mess into a happy, delightful ending.
