    A charming cozy mystery

A Patchwork of Clues is a cute, lighthearted cozy mystery. Po Paltrow is a strong female character and I like that she is an older protagonist (60s). It provides a different perspective. The quilters are various ages and have diverse personalities (a character for every reader). They are friendly group of women who support each other. It is cute how Po, with help from the other ladies, is working to set up her goddaughter, Kate Simpson with Officer PJ Flanigan. The author took the time to establish the characters and describe the Elderberry Shops which is good since this is a character driven cozy mystery. The mystery was clear-cut and not the main focus of the book. The body is found at the beginning (in the first chapter), but the investigating does not begin until the second half of the book. While I knew who committed the crime, the why took longer to uncover. The quilters were eager to dig into the mystery which is obvious when they say, “Let’s sleuth!”. A Patchwork of Clues needed more action which would have helped the pacing. There are plenty of cozy moments with quilting, chatting, eating, and drinking wine. I enjoyed the fabric descriptions and the information on quilting. There is mild foul language in the story. I was happy to see an epilogue that tidily wrapped up everything tidily like a beautifully bound quilt. A Patchwork of Clues has eager quilters, charming shops, serious suspects, fabulous fabrics, and a sexagenarian sleuth.

Don't miss out on this series!

Such a wonderful first book in a series. It was filled with mystery as shadows fall over Selma’s quilt and fabric shop near her stores 50th anniversary. After a man is killed and the police are at a loss, Po and friends who quilt together weekly decide enough is enough and try to find the killer and save their friends shop. The mystery was fantastic, I loved the details of the different quilts, but the relationships between the women were my favorite part. The author shows beautifully how family is more Then blood relatives, it’s those we choose to keep in our hearts. I received an advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest review

    Clever and Cozy Whodunit

Clever and Cozy Whodunit This is a wonderful cozy mystery! This is the first in a new series. If the series is anything like this book, it will be great! The story is filled with everything that makes a good cozy. The reveal was quite surprising and worth the wait. I can't wait to read more of this author's work! I received the ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest opinion.

    Can't Wait for the Next!

What a fun start to a series! I can't wait to read more of these as they come out. This is the second cozy mystery in a row I've read that deals with a group of people working to solve a mystery, instead of a single person and I am loving the change. It's so enjoyable to read about a group of women working together to solve problems. The story is mostly told from the perspective of Po, a sixty something year old women and a character whom I would love to have as a grandmother. Another thing I'm not used to in my stories, and having read this one, I want more older female leads! Grandmas are BA too! It has the comforting feel that I pick these books up for, exciting murders that liven things up, and everything I want in my stories. As a rabid quilter myself, I enjoyed hearing about the projects they worked on, and it even gave me a few ideas in my own projects. No warning apply. Thanks to Netgalley for a digital copy in exchange for an honest review.

Fun Start to a New Cozy Series

When a murder occurs in town and the police are slow to find a suspect, Portia Paltrow (Po) and the ladies in her quilting circle decide try their hands at sleuthing. But with a desperate killer on the loose and the danger rising, can these amateur sleuths solve the clues, stop the killer, and stay safe? A fun and interesting start to a new cozy mystery series (it's actually a re-issued story under a new name). The characters are fun and interesting and I look forward to reading more books in this series.
