    APlace for Us

It has been years since I have read abook that had me anxiously waiting to get back to reading the next line, the next chapter. The author developed her characters so beautifully. I loved each of them. The most touching perhaps was the final chapter. I had a very strict Italian father and it has only been in his golden years that I tried to see his role as a father through his eyes. This is a beautiful story.

    Excellent book

By far the best book I've read in a long time. The author is wise beyond her years. It is very well written and stayed with me long after I finished it.

Beautifully written - thoroughly enjoyed this book

This was a beautifully written story of the relationships among the members of an Islamic family and their relationships with their community and their religion. I look forward to Ms. Mirza's next book. I gave this book a 5-star rating because it is so well written. More than once, I had to pause and then re-read a sentence because I was stricken by its profundity. The story is written from the perspective of 4 of the main characters and I felt great empathy for each of them. The final perspective is that of the patriarch of the family, Baba to his children, who appears to be incapable of forgiveness but he will capture your heart with the depth of emotion that he expresses in the final chapters.
