    Thanks for your feedback!

A bird's eye view of Biblical Hermeneutics.

I liked this frank discussion on the theology of thevBible that surveyed it's composition, canon formation and it's inspirational essence over and time and contexts. The authors chart (by now) a well traversed route keeping a balance between undue critical dissection and overly (ultra evangelical) literalist projection upon the text. Yet in it's view of the literary and narrative depth the book remains devoutly focused on God's essence in the OT and the culmination of the revelation of the Spirit of God in the rescueing and ransoming mission of Jesus the man from Nazareth in the NT- and in that of Him always as Lord of life and Creation. I hope that those who cling to a literally perceived text in its verbal and plenary granted formats give this balanced survey some well deserved attention. The plea for rational discernment to mix with devout allegiance to the nature of God in Christ has much to commend it. I liked it, brief and cursory as it is; while it can be a further lead-in to what the Spirit of God may prompt those of faith to focus and concern themselves with.
