Definitely give this one a shot.

Al, retired sheriff's detective and ad hoc PI, gets thrown into another case larger than it would seem in A Shot in the Texas Dark. As the story progresses he follows his gut instincts to find a missing teenage girl and uncovers multiple avenues with no real map to guide him. Fergie, Maury, Bonnie and Sheriff Clayton all have their parts to play in helping solve this thrilling case that leads him into danger he thought he was long past getting into. With so many twists you don't see coming you should definitely give this one a shot. Russ Hall pulls the reader in with Al's gruff and quirky attitude, extended circle of friends and family, not to mention the suspense built in solving cases. I received a free copy of the book from the author via Hidden Gems. I had the opportunity to review or not.

    okay read

The book was okay, but I found it rather long in places. The brother and future sister n law were just a distraction - more for comic relief than anything else...
