    A Tragic Finale

SORROW is definitely an appropriate name for this book. I've been looking forward to this finale for a while, and it was certainly packed with emotion. There was anger, shock, and a couple surprising tears shed. The story was filled with action, drama, bloodshed, and sacrifices, both dreaded and unsuspected. This one has a high body count, so fans beware! Henrietta's journey was one filled with pain, hardship, and grief, and mistakes were definitely made on her end, but I never doubted that she was always trying to do the right thing for her country and her loved ones. It was always fantastic to see Magnus, and I found myself liking him even more than I had in the past. He definitely matured and grew into a strong man. Characters like Maria were given complex situations that led to shocking twists and suspense, which I enjoyed, along with some other side characters. If I had a problem with anyone, it was Blackwood. I tried to like him, I really did, but his attitude toward Henrietta––and many situations––was completely inappropriate, and it took me a looooooong time to even begin to show sympathy for him again. The ending hurt, but it was right for the series, and was as explosive and gut-wrenching as I imagined it would be. I'm definitely glad to see it through, and am going to miss the monsters, heroes, and journeys made by all of them.
