Outstanding piece of erotic romantic fiction

Being a lover of all things historical and British born and bred. I was immediately drawn to this book by its synopsis. I wasn’t sure how genuine it would sound as I found that the author was of German birth living in the USA. Her description of the time period and locations are top drawer, and set the scene perfectly. Her research must have been so detailed as I could picture some of the places I had visited myself. This is a sign of an excellent author keeping the reader engaged from the beginning. The male and female lead character Sir Henry and Eliza and the book begins by telling how brutally Eliza has been treated by an abusive step-father. Not to give too much of the story away it is more than a historical romance between the two main characters. The sex scenes are intense and incredibly hot. Sir Henry is the perfect English Gent, always trying to help those in need. Yet, after finding Eliza in the road after escaping her abusive family more than just friendship blossoms. The authors description of characters makes you engage with the story, and invest in them. The blooming friendship and main storyline is interwoven with sub plots which make for a really interesting story. All of the characters and plot lines are somehow connected which keeps the reader guessing and wanting to know the outcome of the various facets of their characters. I will finally end with it is a book of historical romance, with hot sexual scenes that gets your pulse racing and other things twitching. I can say that not only will it have you salivating during its journey, but the literary juices will not be the only things flowing. Bianca Scwharz has the ability to set a historical scene and keep you riveted to the characters she develops. I am sure I will read other works by this lady, and can highly recommend this book.

    Great historical thriller

I love historical fiction set in the UK. Add in mystery and romance - even better. So I had high expectations when I began this novel. It did not disappoint. The heroine, Eliza, is beautiful, smart, strong, and by all accounts, should be damaged beyond belief. But it was the hero, Sir Henry, who stole the show for me. He is a proper hero: physically attractive, brave, insanely rich, but most of all, kind and good. He doesn't give a second thought to do for others, especially Eliza in her broken state. As the mystery unravels, we are introduced to the author's vivid descriptions. At the retelling of a particularly horrendous act, we are dumped into the scene - the last place we want to be. The graphic nature with how Daisie tells her story had me both angry and uncomfortable, however, it is not gratuitous. When we are finally confronted with the actual environment from Daisie's story, even knowing the space was unoccupied, I stilled skimmed through. I would have liked to have seen more of Sir Henry's relationship with his daughter, Emily, earlier rather than only hearing about it. I believe the stakes would have felt higher for me. Maybe more actual involvement of Emily to the plot as well. But those are small complaints that are easily overlooked because of the overall enjoyment of reading this book. I highly recommend to any reader.
