★ Out from under the Shield ★

Review Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars - Not having read any books from this series, I find what appears to be a carefully and lovingly built complex shifter world, with many engaging elements beyond the shifter community, incorporating mutants, magical abilities, witches, etc. The main threads of this installment is the coming together of a newly discovered half-tiger shifter Jon and two alpha wolf shifters, Tanner and Sasha, who have been circling each other since their childhood as fated mates. Now brought together in the same merged pack, the wolf pack alpha is missing, Tanner’s mother, and all must join forces to outwit the man who took her as an instrument to further his own evil plans.

Action Packed. Love triangle & so much more

I’m giving this 4 stars for how quick the storyline engaged me. Straight away I was interested In how a change in circumstances of a special op’s agents life never prepared him for the shock that was waiting for him after a near death experience & also who was there to help him accept and deal with who he had spent his career persecuting. Months after rehabilitation he has to admit to himself the overwhelming attraction of two people he would never normally have any feelings for drove him to distraction. Now he needs to know if it’s reciprocated but His timing isn’t great when the Female Alpha of their pack is abducted and one of them is her son driven to near madness with the need to find his mother. The other a healer who has been in love with him since they was children, but now Jon is here she also wants him to. Will she give one up for the other or could they all be together as one? In between this complicated love story we see how the ratings of a mad man threatens the Alphas life, as she try’s to gain the trust of a demon in the next cell to help with their survival. Alongside all this is a running war against mutants and action constantly happening. This being the first book I had read in the series made me think it would be better to have read the whole series purely for the background on some of the characters, however it didn’t spoil things for me and I would definitely look for the next one.
