    A second chance at love

Rez's family met with a tragic end and the only thing keeping him going now is the hope that his daughter is still alive somewhere. Finding her is the only purpose of his life and he is willing to go to any lengths to do so. Holly may just be the witch that can help him achieve that but when she's around him he finds it very hard to resist her. In spite of his attraction to her, he is clear about not wanting to create any romantic ties. As for Holly, she may be attracted to the Mastyr Rez but his leaving the Vampire Guard and not doing his part in keeping the Realm safe from the Invictus is enough to keep her feelings in check. But when she agrees to help him find his daughter another side to him is revealed and so she realizes that the warrior vampire is doing a lot more for the Realm than she realizes. Being a blood rose complicates their relationship even further. As their alliance leads them closer to danger and achieving their goals both Holly and Rez begin to see that together they are better and stronger and that finding happiness once again is not something that Rez needs to sacrifice anymore. I received an Advanced Reader's Copy from the author for voluntary review consideration.

Get Comfy and enjoy the story

A VAMPIRE'S EMBRACE, Book 2 -Blood Rose Time-Travel Series, Caris Roane Missed book one (A Vampire's Soft Embrace) or haven't read any of the Blood Rose Series, which this follows? It's all good, you can start with this book. You're missing the running background, but it's easy enough to pick up. Which brings us to cliffhangers. Most people this is probably their biggest pet peeve in books. The story as in getting to the HEA, finishes… there's the running background that will continue to the next book, but it pretty much ends. I've enjoyed any book I've read of Caris Roane's and this is no different. There's enough new to the series that I'm still 'learning' what these new versions of the Blood Roses are. But all in all. You have love scenes that are hot and fit well into the story. Plenty of action, to keep you on the edge of your seat and not wanting to put the book down. A great story line that keeps you interest. Believable characters that you really want to get together and watching their journey to their HEA. So get comfy and settle in and enjoy the story.

I admit it... I wanna visit the Nine Realms

The Nine Realms is a captivating world I wouldn't mind visiting... well, once they deal with a few public safety issues. :) Holly is a fae healer who knows of vampire Rez through his reputation mostly... and, unfortunately, his is not the kind of reputation any one seeks. That anyone respects him baffles her, and yet the more time she spends with him the more people she meets who do indeed respect him, many of whom are people she knows and considers to be good judges of character... so what is she missing? Rez's family was brutally murdered, he is all alone, unless you count his daughter, who instead of being killed was abducted, but her abduction gives him reason to live... and thankfully this remarkable man sees a great deal in his own suffering, and his search for his daughter is not the only way he is spending his time, for which countless people have good reason to be grateful. This may be my favorite story in the nine realms. I enjoyed both of these characters, and how Holly came to understand Rez and why his loss to the Invictus had felt different than hers. Holly is a fun blend of smart and compassionate, and remains aware of the world around her.

Definitely my favourite in this series

A welcome return to the world of the Nine Realms with its mixture of Vampires, Fae, Shifters and numerous other paranormal creatures who add such colour. Plus the author has expanded her Blood Rose idea by giving certain women the ability to control and travel through the time continuum . Sounds absolutely crazy and yet funnily enough really works to great effect here as Holly makes great strides utilising her abilities not just to heal but to aid Rez a Vampire who has lost so much. What's really interesting is the fact that although the original Invictus force has almost been wiped out of existence a new enemy appears that seems to bare an uncanny resemblance . Can Holly overcome her prejudice of the man that Rez has become and if so will they discover just how they can stop the carnage that the new threat is bringing? I have to hand it the author as she's really taken her original idea of Vampires who utilise a battle energy comprised of vibrations and made it wholly plausible . Initially I was admittedly sceptical but it's now so refined that I can almost see these powerful males duelling . Add in the scenes with Holly aiding Rez to ambush their enemies and it's a head spinning action packed story. Plus there's a slight subplot that's really quite poignant as Rez searches for his missing daughter. This is most definitely a romance with Holly believing her life is ordered and complete . However she comes slowly to realise that she's just been treading water and there's a whole vibrant world out there if she would just take that one brave step. Luckily Rez is mutually enamoured although what lies between them both isn't anything that either sought and it takes them both quite sometime to actually see that they really do belong together. So time travelling , action and romance aside why did I enjoy this so much? Well it's the development of supporting characters and the world building that keeps me entertained and if you like a little bawdy humour in your reads then you will love a certain Gremlin that makes his presence felt in this story! Yes this book had everything I look for in a paranormal romance and I can't wait to see how the author tops this one. A copy of this book was provided for me with no requirement for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments are my honest opinion.

    A Vampire's Embrace

A Vampire's Embrace is the second book in the Blood Rose Time Travel series, and we meet up with Rez and Holly as they become the latest pair that the Invictus target. This world is firmly established, and yet Caris Roane has managed to introduce a new set of rules to their world - that of time-pathing. Only a certain few have this talent, and Holly is one of them. She has been pushed hard by Vojalie but still has things to learn. One thing she doesn't need to learn about though, is Rez. Holly thinks that she knows him, the same as he thinks that he knows her. Both of these are in for the shock of their lives as they realise that the real them is very different from what the other thought. With a fast pace and steamy situations, it was with delight that I found the softer, more gentle, side of Rez and his quest to find his missing daughter. This was exceedingly well written, with enough angst to make it real, rather than overly dramatic. There were no editing or grammatical errors that disrupted my reading flow. I would totally recommend not only this book, and the first one is this series, but the whole Blood Rose set. With characters mentioned from previous stories, you will definitely be in for a treat as you enter their world. * A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review.
