    A Woman Is No Man

A heartwrenching story of women struggling for a voice in a man's world. It challenges us to be alert to our neighbors to assist them to find their voices.

    Endearing and heart wrenching

Telling the story of generations of abuse to the Muslim women in Palestine and then in America. An import and profound novel.

    A Woman is No Man

A powerful story with so many layers and voices! The title says it simply but somehow generations and generations ago in cultures all around the world, this statement took on a dark meaning of “less than” and no rights plus shame and silence. Thank you Etaf for writing this book!!

    An Amazing Read!

I read this book with immense interest and respect for the author's courage to tell the truth, even when that truth is sometimes ugly. As a fellow immigrant from a Chinese background, I resonated with the concept of growing up in a patriarchial society and where males are valued over females. I want to thank Etah Rum for telling this story and enlightening us to a culture that is not well understood by many. Although disturbing at times, the truth will set us free.

    Captivating characters & storyline?

Captivating story line! Descriptive, well written & provides insight into cultural realities faced by Muslim women past & present. Ending was somewhat disappointing.
