    Beautiful Love Story

Absent in the Spring was a beautiful and heartfelt love story. The book was well written and had lots of depth to it. The characters were very lovable. Once I started reading I didn’t want to stop. I look forward to reading the next book.

    5 STARS!

I enjoyed this story so much. The writing was fluid and engaging with beautifully developed characters and storyline. Lachlan was a wealthy hero, but without the typical arrogance and alpha tendencies. Definitely a favorite hero. The relationship between Lachlan and Lucy developed in a natural and realistic way that kept me pulled into the story and rooting for their HEA. I was simply transported into this world through the intricate detailing of both characters lives, backstories, and families. All-around, Carrie Elks did a fantastic job with this story. Although this is my first foray into the world of the Shakespeare Sisters, it reads perfectly as a standalone and encourages me to quickly start reading the two preceding books. (This is my voluntary and unbiased review of an advanced copy of Absent in the Spring.)

    Lucy and Lachlan’s Story

This is the third book in the Shakespeare Sisters series. This is Lucy and Lachlan's story. I did not read the previous books, but I did not feel I had missed too much by jumping in at book 3. Lachlan hires Lucy as his overseas lawyer to help him save his Scottish estate from his half brother. A long distance relationship with both having secrets from their pasts make it a tough road, but it was a journey worth taking. This was my first book by Carrie Elks. I enjoyed the writing style, pace of the book and the twists. This was a fun read. I am providing my honest review after reading an ARC of this novel.
