    Thanks for your feedback!

    great read -- very descritive

this is a very well written book. The descriptions draw you into the scenes, wbether they are narratuves of past events and locations or current activities and realationships. The story surrounds the struggles ofa family escaping war torn Laos, travelling to a refuge camp where sqalid conditions are at best, to arriving in America and makkng a new life. Some characters adapt better than others yet all experience the conflict of fitting in or remaining true to their old ways. While it may be a modern day story of immigrants and assimilation, it is worth the retelling in current time. it is a real opportunity to teach as well as learn understanding and empathy. Great read!
