    Gritty!

This book is composed of stories from SF operative who served out in 'Stan'. It is put together well and is action packed. To the author I say thank you for sharing your experiences and to those who are looking to read something about British SF about the things that happeb down range then this book will give you a snap shot of what has taken place. Plus the book contains some really good snippets of historical info about the different things that have taken place in Afghanistan.

    Quick point

Liked the book as a quick read to cover SAS ops over a couple of years from the soldiers perspective and not even going into the'head shed' stuff. Camp Bastion got its name from the emblem of 62 Wks Gp RE, not from hesco, just a quick point.

Great Insight to life in British SAS

Having spent 25 years in the forces, I have the utmost respect for these guys who test themselves to the maximum on selection then live a relentless lifestyle so others can sleep peacefully in their beds at night. This book is a short insight to just a small portion of what these guys do. It was a great read from start to finish and I wish the author all the very best along with all other SF guys who in my opinion are heroes even though the author tries to play this down. May God bless you all

    Great read

Well written and entertaining insight into our Special Forces in Afghanistan. Found it a fascinating read with many interesting facts slotted round a fast paced action story. Worth a read.

    Rather poor

The whole book is a let down. All the information regarding missions and other ops details have already been covered in other books and in some cases much Bette detail. On another point the writer states in their beginning of being badged for the SAS it states a similar situation that Andy mcnab has been through. So since then if been reading with the feeling this book was made by andy McNabb and not this "Steve stone" In short a poor read. Consider Task Force Black instead. That is a much better read.
