  • A joy

I loved this book. I loved everything about it. I thought the characters were so real, so right. Paris, is of course, wonderful as always. And a fabulous ending, what more could I ask for?

  • Lovely characters

A love story about two people growing up together. Nicely written and with engaging characters. Never a done deal that they will end up together but it's a fun ride for the reader. Would recommend

  • Frustrating hero

There was potential for a higher rating but the hero, Joss, was so frustrating. He was constantly making decisions for the heroine, Célie, based on what he thought she wanted and needed but never actually asking her opinion. And then, when she was angry and frustrated, rightfully so, he kind of played the role of the martyr, "but I did all for you, why can't you see it". He acted like she was a prize that he could claim for his self-imposed torture to become better. Fortunately, she wasn't too happy about it and she actually addressed all the things that were bothering me as well and I liked it. But there wasn't much going on plot-wise, as it all seemed to go in circles, where they were having the same argument over and over, and the little conflict in the end was very quickly resolved. On the plus side, I liked Célie, mostly, she felt a little immature at times, the writing style was pretty nice, and I liked the setting, and Joss did learn his lesson in the end, and it's Paris, who doesn't love Paris. All in all, there was more positive than negative for me.

    Thanks for your feedback!
