    endlessly entertaining

Shalvis repeatedly had me laughing out loud with this intricately written and endlessly entertaining novel. She brings her setting forward through constant yet subtle descriptions that work their way into your subconscious, creating a picture for the characters to walk through. This small town really comes to life in a big way. The smooth & inviting narrative really takes the story to the next level, highlighting aspects of the plot and characters in minute ways that you can’t miss. I like how Shalvis tackled many difficult subjects while writing a fun, upbeat novel that I wanted to become part of. She also shows how romance in in the small things: a look, a touch, a whisper. There was a contradiction within Zoe – to follow her dream yet to guard herself closely, shutting herself down from others. Conversely, Parker’s caring nature, yet not wanting to care too deeply put him in a similar, if also very different boat. Not only that, but these two were just plain fun individuals to get to know. Both had exciting jobs, yet at the same time they were both common enough. Their personalities drew me in as well. As individuals they were the type of people I could see myself being friends with, yet together, oh boy! I won’t do them justice to describe it. The secondary characters were also a blast. You really get a sense of how much family matters throughout. Zoe’s sister, well, I don’t think she hit the page without making me giggle. I love how Shalvis brings people and their pets together in this novel. Oreo, for example, was priceless. He’s one of those rare pets who really comes to life in a story without becoming more than simply a loveable pet, making an unforgettable secondary character. And let’s not forget Parker’s sweet sister. I like how Shalvis developed her. I could empathize with and feel for her, without feeling pity for her. This is one of those fantastic novels that builds on the series that came before it while also giving readers a great standalone romance in and of itself. I could barely put it down and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.

Jill Shalvis is a sure thing!

Every time I pick up a book by Jill Shalvis, I know that I'm in for a heartwarming, sweet and sexy treat and ALL I WANT certainly delivered on its promise. Meet Zoe Stone. Ace pilot, very independent, somewhat snarky, a bit bruised by life, the oldest Stone sibling and de facto mother of the brood. Now that her siblings are settled in their relationships, Zoe plans on working on a few things on her list like fixing up the home they inherited from their grandparents, learning to bake and getting back into the dating pool. Then she opens up her door to Parker James and that list gets a re-shuffle. Parker James is on forced vacation after being wounded in the line of duty (who knew that there was so much danger working with the Fish & Wildlife Service?) and he chose Sunshine, Idaho. Lucky for him, his old college buddy Wyatt lives in Sunshine and he'll be sharing the old family home with Wyatt's older sister. Her enthusiastic welcome and the instant chemistry between them are completely unexpected but welcome and for the first time in his life, Parker has found the one person who can distract him from his absolute dedication to his job. Meet Parker James. Investigating agent for the Fish & Wildlife Service and the sexiest man to ever grace Sunshine (sorry, Wyatt!). He's attractive, caring, confident, protective, has a great sense of humor and when it comes to his job, which is his real reason for being in Sunshine, Parker is extremely driven and focused. Two people with reason to shun commitment. Zoe has been played for a fool before and Parker feels that his single-minded devotion to his job means that there is no room in his life for anything or anyone else. But sizzling chemistry like Zoe and Parker share is not something they are used to so, even though there is no future for them, they don't mind enjoying each other in the time they have together. ALL I WANT was such a fun book. The flirting, the witty banter, the verbal foreplay, the humor - it all felt so good! The antics of the animals also added a playful element to the story. What I loved most was the lack of angst. Jill Shalvis always makes me smile, laugh and fall in love with her characters! Love Abounds In Sunshine, ID

Zoe Stone has always been the one to keep things running smoothly. A lifetime of her parents being off doing their thing has made her the solid one, the one that made sure that her younger siblings had what they needed, that life looked somewhat normal. But now that her brother and sister are out on their own, Zoe's ready for a life reboot. Parker James has always wanted to be the opposite of his parents, to live a life different from the one mapped out for him. An agent for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, he's happy to go wherever the job takes him. There's no room in his life for settling down... Any time that Jill Shalvis releases something new, it's an automatic top of the TBR for me. I will shuffle things around just so that I can read her books, because I love them so much. Having met and loved Zoe in previous books in Jill's Animal Magnetism series, I was excited to see what was in store for her. As the eldest of three kids that have spent their lives in far-flung corners of the world due to their foreign service parents, Zoe has found that she loves being back home in Sunshine, Idaho. She's finally found a rhythm to her life, a steadiness that makes her happy. When Parker shows up, that equilibrium is more than upset, and it isn't long before her life is turned upside down. Oh God. "You're not Newman Taylor," she whispered in horror. "No," he said. "But if your next guess is Parker James, you'd be right." Oh God. Wyatt's friend, to whom she'd agreed to rent a room for the few weeks he was in town... "You're my brother's old friend." "Not all that old, really," he said, and looked at her mouth. The mouth she'd kissed him with. Good God, I kissed him. He grinned. And...she'd said that out loud. Perfect. She covered her face. "I'm sorry, I-" "Don't be sorry," he said. "That kiss was the best thing to happen to me all week." I love these two. Determined not to get involved, it isn't long, of course, before good intentions are rethought, and all kinds of sizzle ensues. And, when I say sizzle, I mean hot as all heck. The chemistry between Zoe and Parker is the swoon-inducing, fan yourself type, and there is plenty of it. One of my favorite things about reading one of Jill's books is the sense of community, the family ties, the knowledge that the places she writes about are home, in the realest sense of the word. ALL I WANT has all of this, along with the suspense of the back story surrounding Parker and the requisite wonderful cast of supporting characters, making for an absorbing, can't put it down read. 5+ stars, and a recommendation to grab this one, settle in, and enjoy. ***ARC generously provided by publisher for an honest review.***
