  • Amish Christmas Miracle!

An Amish Husband for Tillie by Amy Lillard is book four in her Amish of Pontotoc series. Though part of a series, this novel reads well as a standalone. Tillie Gingerich is burdened by her bad decisions. Levi Yoder is troubled by losses not of his own making. Amish rules and traditions make a relationship between them an impossibility. Will they find a way? An Amish Husband for Tillie is a marvelous Christian Christmas novel. The characters are as warm and inviting as the season. The story is interesting and leaves you wondering how there could possibly be a happy ending. The themes of God’s will and Christmas miracles are featured throughout. This is a story of faith, hope and love. I truly enjoyed this 5 out of 5 star read and recommend it to all readers of Christian romance, especially Amish romance. My thanks to Kensington Books and NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book. However the opinions expressed in this review are 100% mine and mine alone.

  • Great Read

Tillie left her Amish home to be with her “true love” Melvin, who had also left the Amish. When things did not work out as she hoped she came back home single and pregnant. Her mother gladly took her in, her father not so much. She knew the bishop would force her to leave but she wanted to at least spend her last Christmas with her family. A miracle happens in a most unexpected location during a snow storm. The love and joy that comes from this miracle opens the eyes of a widower. What will happen next and will the bishop lose patience with her still being at her family home? Love and forgiveness play a big part in this story. I sometimes think the Amish rules are harsh when a member sins. Jesus forgives, so shouldn’t we? But we also must set good examples for those that look up to us. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through the author but was not required to write a review.

  • Heartwarming

All Tillie wanted was home for her and her baby. Love was not part of the mix, but it snuck up on her anyway. She'd had it tough and she just wanted a different and new life at home. Life had taken Levi through the grinder and he just wanted to be left alone. There is this thing about grief, it loves its company. My heart went out for him as he struggled to believe any good could come out of his misfortune and pain. Tillie and Levi both just wanted peace and light at the end of the dark tunnels of their lives. Both of them had history they learnt to accept and move on, making the best out of life. The beauty and closeness of the Amish family was so heartwarming and refreshing in this book. This is a beautiful story of second chances, love, redemption and forgiveness. I recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful Christmas read as this story was set during that time. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley and this is my honest opinion.
