    Cold Puzzle Collection

This is the 2nd book following a criminologist Professor Ellie Matthews doing her Sherlock talents to solve crime dramas. Caroline Fardig brings an amazing cast of characters who navigate an amazing "Who Done it" mystery. This book can be read as a stand alone but I will stress having read the first book in this series "Bitter Past" that both showcase an author of exceptional talent. Ellie and Detective Baxter Nick Baxter again team as partners to race against the clock to put puzzle pieces together to solve a cold case. Police department abounds with interesting individuals all focused on moving this story along in killer fashion. Look forward to Fardig's next installment to see how Elle and Nick battle their next case and their cautious romance. Amazing

Absolutely well achieved and excellent writing style. This is a nail biting thriller that will keep you up trying to put the bit and pieces together to solve the murder mystery inside the story. We have a flawed, but strong main character that is put to the limit by a sociopath with a vendetta and a thirst for murder.

    An Eye for an Eye

An Eye for an Eye is the second Ellie Matthews story from Caroline Fardig (Bitter Past is the first), but is a stand along story. Fast read with interesting characters and twists makes this a great series. Ms Fardig manages to make the reader feel invested in the outcome. I was given a copy to review.

Hard to put down An Eye for An Eye

Heavy emotional plot with investigative twists and turns that made it hard to put this book down! Book 2 in the Ellie Matthews series. I would suggest reading book 1 first to get the most out of book 2. Ellie's previous case involvement has her drinking to cope with life. Being drawn into the search for missing students starts when Sheriff Jayne Walsh's niece, Jenna, goes missing after spending the evening with Ellie's half sister, Rachel, at Ellie's home. Ellie's traumatic childhood is the focus of Det. Nick Baxter as they partner together to find a serial killer as Nick wants to partner together with Ellie on a personal level. Ellie finds herself facing off with a sociopath to rescue Rachel. Looking forward to book 3 as Ellie decides to return to the Hamilton County investigative team.

    Suspenseful

I enjoyed this book. This is the second book in the series but it can be read with as a stand alone. Ellie is back but this time the case is personal. A family friend is murdered and the case involves many people close to her. The entire department has to race against the clock to solve the crime before the killer claims another victim. The author does a very good job with the Indiana setting. I really liked the rural small town setting. I like the relationship between Nick and Ellie. I was surprised by the ending and the who did it. The book moves along quickly and keeps you turning the pages. I look for word to reading more in this series. Enjoy
