  • Mystery & Intrigue

The O’Connells seem to attract mystery and intrigue to their family. But with their strong family ties and belief in rightful justice, they (hopefully) will always prevail. Brady’s on the cusp of adulthood and believes he has met the right girl for him. Just when he’s ready to begin his forever after, she disappears and when he sets out to discover what secrets surround her leaving, he also learns what it truly means to have his brothers by his side and his family at his back. This is another exciting and mysterious tale in the O’Connell Clan saga, touching on the inequities in our law enforcement system which often beleaguer the defenseless. Fortunately, the O’Connells have a strong sense of justice and family and are always willing to support their own in this fast-paced story. It will hold your interest and keep you captivated from start to finish. Each book in this series is its own roller coaster ride of emotions, challenges, and strong family values, which will keep you turning pages late into the night, but I can guarantee that any loss of sleep is well worth it!

  • Great Story

Ms. Eckhart has once again weaved a tale that draws us in with its mystery and suspense. This time around focus is given to Brady. When his fiance goes missing he solicits his half brothers help in solving the problem and what they find is that she never existed which in itself makes no sense. This story draws you in and has you glued to the pages wanting to know what happened to Cassie and will she and Brady find theur way back to each other? • mystery and suspense

Mystery and suspense from start to finish had me glued to my seat. What an introduction to an author this book turned out to be. If you like the blurb then trust me, you are going to love the book! The author has done a wonderful job making this book seamlessly flow through drama and intrigue that took through a barrage of emotions. A must read. • Okay Read That Could Have Been Great

I have not read any of the other eleven novels in this family series but was drawn to this one because of the plot summary. This was merely an okay read but had an interesting plot with lots of possibilities. After all, how well do we really know some of the people in our lives, especially those who have never shared much of their past lives? That is the plot of this novel and would have made a much more interesting read if the characters had been better developed. As I hadn’t read the earlier novels in the series it is possible that readers learned more about Brady from some of those but what we learned about Cassie in And Then She Was Gone was nowhere enough to make me feel feel emotionally invested in her. Nor did I find the plot progression compelling enough for me to want to finish the novel. I did finish it, not because I found it a page turning read, or because I was drawn to the characters, but because the book was shorter than average and I really find it difficult not to complete any book, even one that I find to be boring and not fully developed. Many times a novel redeems itself by the time it gets to the conclusion. This one didn’t. It was just okay.
