  • One of the best books.

Melanie Tomlin, or Queen M—as I call her—created a very entertaining and intriguing story that will make you want to live in her books. For all I know, she could be the next Anne Rice, and this book will be the next big thing in theaters.

  • Pretty average

A good book for a rainy sunday. The plot won't keep you awake all night.

  • An interesting twist on angels & demons

I loved this book. Miss Tomlin honestly put some serious thought into writing this story and it was great! I love how she explained a lot of the back story so you could truly understand how the story goes

  • Not Bad

I read this book because it was free and a new author for me. I mostly read paranormal romance and urban fantasy. Lets start with the only point of view is hers where as most of the books I've read are dual POV (point of views). I like the ability to understand both characters thoughts and emotions how it connects with other characters in the book. Angels Kiss is only Helena's point of view. For me got a little boring. I did however like her character and how she develops as the book goes on. There were question I had about the history of her background, such as Preacher. There wasn't a lot there for me to really care who and what he represented for Helena in her past other than he was just a bad guy. If there was some back story with their history it would've gotten me closer to Helena and how she became to be as an adult but it was still somewhat bare. I kept reading hoping for more. He her parents were the same. Very little was said about them but they did have an impact on Helena's life but nothing was descriptive enough as to why so I kept reading hoping for something to come up. When I'm reading a book with only one point of view I would expect more than what was written about Helena and her past. All in all I still don't know who she is where in the first book of a series it's where most times the character is built up and rev up the reader for the next book. I didn't feel that with this book. Now the romance is more for PG13 and definitely younger. One paragraph at best is the romance. Again with only one point of view it didn't work for me. The violence..very little in the way you would expect from a paranormal romance book. Meaning the violence was there but it's not detailed enough for it to be really visual. There is swearing but really minimal other than when the bad guys have nothing nice to say. Now I have read that Tomlin writes dark urban and paranormal book but this book is not dark. Now if you want dark read Dannika Dark or Eve Langlais...N.J Walters.. Alisa Woods...Tina Folsom. These are some of the authors I have read and there is a heck of a lot more of everything in their books. All in all I did like some of the book in action scenes and her powers evolving. And Drake! I did in fact liked Drake and his dark demeanor. And honestly that is the only reason I'm going to read the next book.
