  • Straightforward, clear, concise guidance on identi

    As I read through 'Anger Management: a practical guide' I had many 'that's me' moments. It was defining the exact triggers that would lead me towards bouts of anger that I had struggled with for years. I continued to read and not only identify those scenarios which had triggered my anger but also steps on mitigating those events, working through my anger challenges, and continually measuring my success (or lack thereof) Dr. Pereira provides clear and concise (no fluff) examples of many challenging situations that include frustration towards others, the belief I am being treated unfairly and being ignored. Each scenario presents unique obstacles which require me to; identify my triggers beforehand, mitigate if possible, repetition and practice in conversations (this is easily the hardest part, but also the most rewarding). Through patience, determination and application I have found that the most uncomfortable communications are generally the ones worth having the most. I still struggle at times, but now have a plan of attack and understand what bothers me and why, the modifications I can make to my mindset and assumptions to continually improve my anger management skills. Lastly, I wanted to add that I really enjoyed the structure of the content in this book, as there were certain scenarios I felt weren't applicable to me, so it was nice to be able to jump around to the content I needed to be focus on (and the reference in the future when I need it)
