    Absolutely Awesome Book!

Awesome Book! I read this book on a recommendation from my son's girlfriend. I've come to trust her because she suggested a book I loved last month, and she did it again with Anni Moon & The Elemental Artifact. Although I'm pretty sure I'm not the intended reader for this book, I totally engaged with it because your heart goes out to Anni's situation right away. She lives in a world that is magic and weirdly wonderful, but the way Anni thinks is just so real. For me that's what makes a story great - Anni may be fiction, but the things she does and says are true. The book is at turns hilarious, heart breaking, exciting (especially towards the end), and always totally imaginative. There's a lot of memorable names in this book, like Brat (which is a combination of a bat and a rat - so cute!), there's a Zelda Scurryfunge, and an Effie OggleBoggle. The writer is super good with words and combining things together in a way you'd never think about until you see that it's obvious they were meant to go together. Finally, there are images throughout the book - beautiful illustrations for every chapter. I love it when books do that. When you meet the characters you can actually see what they look like. There's also tons of mental images in the writing. It's a visually rich world complete with a map! So I guess I'm writing all this because this is a brand new book and I just wanted to support something really great!

    Elemental Anni

You know right from the start that "Anni Moon & The Elemental Artifact: An Elemental Fantasy Adventure" is going to take you places you have never been before. The adventure begins when our heroine, Anni Moon, is startled by a talking bat. Anni and her best friend, Lexi, are orphans living at Waterston Academy. But, before we get comfortable there, Lexi disappears and Anni sets off to find her, a trip that takes her to the mystical realm of Moon Zephyr. Her arrival is not pleasant. It seems humans exude a powerful, disgusting funk that makes them less welcome than a bum at a New Years Eve gala. Annie's adventures and courage make for an exciting read. And, leave you looking forward to the second installment in this series. This primary audience for this book is children eight to twelve years old, but it is enjoyable to adults as well. I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
